Secure payments with SSL
Secure online purchases with SSL (secure socket layer) encryption is the number-one encryption standard for the secure transfer of data online. It secures the identity of the computers communicating with one another and guarantees the confidentiality of the data being transmitted.
The SSL protocol creates secure connections in three different ways: The connection is completely private because your content is only transmitted in encrypted form. The identity of the server is fixed. Effective algorithms check whether the data is complete and unchanged when it reaches the recipient. The SSL protocol is initiated by adding an s to the well-known prefix http: www.sioux-shop.de (see below). This tells the browser to request a certificate and its public key from the server. The browser is notified of this key along with a checksum and an ID. This information is generated by only a few certification companies.
SSL connections cannot be used, disrupted or manipulated by third parties. This means that the information being transmitted (addresses or order data) are protected against access or manipulation by third parties. The encryption is automatic, so you don’t need to do anything. You can recognise an active SSL connection by way of a closed padlock on the bottom of your browser window, or by the s after the http in the address line of your browser, e.g. www.sioux-shop.de.
Our online shop uses a Comodo SSL certificate to protect your data.
